xiāng xīn xīn suì qiè, tiān pàn dú shān rán. 乡心新岁切，天畔独潸然。 My heart longs for home more urgently in the new year; at the ends of the earth, I shed tears alone.
lǎo zhì jū rén xià, chūn guī zài kè xiān. 老至居人下，春归在客先。 Old age has come, yet I remain subordinate to others; spring returns home before this sojourner does.
lǐng yuán tóng dàn mù, jiāng liǔ gòng fēng yān. 岭猿同旦暮，江柳共风烟。 Mountain apes are my company morning and evening; river willows share the wind and mist with me.
yǐ shì cháng shā fù, cóng jīn yòu jǐ nián. 已是长沙傅，从今又几年。 I am already like the exiled Tutor of Changsha; how many more years will pass from now?
