Baoding University is a full-time, general undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education. Located in Baoding City, Hebei Province, just 30 kilometers from the Xiong'an New Area, it boasts convenient transportation and a beautiful environment, offering significant regional advantages. The university has a history of over 100 years, tracing its roots to the "Baoding Junior Normal School," founded in 1904. It underwent several transformations, including its renaming in 1910 to "Zhili Second Junior Normal School" and later, in 1928, to "Hebei Provincial Second Normal School." In 1978, it became Baoding Normal Junior College, and through subsequent mergers and upgrades, it achieved its current status as Baoding University in 2007.

The library holds over 1.5 million physical books, 32.8 million electronic books, and numerous rare ancient texts and newspapers, including three rare editions listed in Hebei's first catalog of valuable ancient books.
Baoding University has 16,117 full-time students and 1,052 staff members, including 655 full-time faculty, of whom 98 hold senior professional titles. The faculty includes nationally recognized experts, provincial-level high-level talents, and recipients of various prestigious awards.
