迟=晚 late
对不起, 迟了10分钟。

duìbuqǐ, chíle shí fēnzhōng.
Sorry, I'm ten minutes late.

迟迟/遲遲chí chí (= 久) "long"
adv. in a way that the action is delayed or procrastinated (usually used with negative words)
他迟迟不做决定。
他遲遲不做決定。
tā chíchí bù zuò juédìng.
He couldn’t make any decisions for a long time.

我的请求迟迟没有得到回复。
我的請求遲遲沒有得到回覆。
wǒ de qǐng qiú chí chí méi yǒu dé dào huí fù
I haven't got any reply to my request for a long time.

迟到/遲到 (v.) be late
现在都三点了，我们快迟到了。
現在都三點了，我們快遲到了。
Xiànzài dōu sān diǎnle, wǒmen kuài chídàole.
It is three now, we are almost late.
