有位先生利用假期出去玩儿了一趟，回来后，他跟一位朋友讲了这样一件事：
Yǒu wèi xiānsheng lìyòng jiàqī chūqù wánr le yí tàng, huílái hòu, tā gēn yí wèi péngyou jiǎng le zhèyàng yí jiàn shì:
A gentleman used his vacation to take a trip. After he came back, he told a friend about something that happened:
有一天，他出去玩儿，走了一上午，又累又渴。
Yǒu yì tiān, tā chūqù wánr, zǒu le yì shàngwǔ, yòu lèi yòu kě.
One day, he went out sightseeing and walked all morning. He was both tired and thirsty.
这时，他看见一家饭店，门口立着一块大牌子：“服务周到，经济实惠。”
Zhè shí, tā kànjiàn yì jiā fàndiàn, ménkǒu lìzhe yí kuài dà páizi: “Fúwù zhōudào, jīngjì shíhuì.”
At that moment, he saw a restaurant. At the entrance stood a large sign: “Attentive service, economical and affordable.”
他就走了进去，想在那儿吃午饭。
Tā jiù zǒu le jìnqù, xiǎng zài nàr chī wǔfàn.
So he walked in, wanting to have lunch there.
饭店里边人很少，点着蜡烛，很安静，看起来挺不错的。
Fàndiàn lǐbian rén hěn shǎo, diǎnzhe làzhú, hěn ānjìng, kàn qǐlái tǐng búcuò de.
There were very few people inside the restaurant. Candles were lit, and it was very quiet. It looked quite nice.
他脱下外衣，挂在门边，然后找了一个座位坐下来。
Tā tuō xià wàiyī, guà zài mén biān, ránhòu zhǎo le yí ge zuòwèi zuò xiàlái.
He took off his coat, hung it by the door, then found a seat and sat down.
很快，一个服务员走了过来：“欢迎光临！先生，您需要点儿什么？”
Hěn kuài, yí ge fúwùyuán zǒu le guòlái: “Huānyíng guānglín! Xiānsheng, nín xūyào diǎnr shénme?”
Soon, a waiter came over: “Welcome! Sir, what would you like to order?”
他说：“先给我来一杯扎啤吧。”
Tā shuō: “Xiān gěi wǒ lái yì bēi zhāpí ba.”
He said, “First, bring me a glass of draft beer.”
“好的，请稍等。”
“Hǎo de, qǐng shāo děng.”
“Certainly, please wait a moment.”
过了一会儿，服务员回来了：“对不起，先生，扎啤没有了。”
Guò le yíhuìr, fúwùyuán huílái le: “Duìbuqǐ, xiānsheng, zhāpí méiyǒu le.”
After a while, the waiter came back: “Sorry, sir, we’re out of draft beer.”
他心想，可能自己没点菜，人家不太高兴。
Tā xīn xiǎng, kěnéng zìjǐ méi diǎn cài, rénjiā bú tài gāoxìng.
He thought to himself that perhaps the restaurant was unhappy because he had not ordered any food.
他又说：“那么，请给我上个汤，肉丝汤。”
Tā yòu shuō: “Nàme, qǐng gěi wǒ shàng ge tāng, ròusī tāng.”
He then said, “In that case, please bring me a soup, shredded pork soup.”
“好的，请稍等。”
“Hǎo de, qǐng shāo děng.”
“Certainly, please wait a moment.”
又过了一会儿，服务员回来了：“对不起，先生，肉丝汤没有了。”
Yòu guò le yíhuìr, fúwùyuán huílái le: “Duìbuqǐ, xiānsheng, ròusī tāng méiyǒu le.”
After another while, the waiter came back: “Sorry, sir, we’re out of shredded pork soup.”
“那么，给我上个炸牛排、炸羊排或者炸猪排吧。”
“Nàme, gěi wǒ shàng ge zhá niúpái, zhá yángpái huòzhě zhá zhūpái ba.”
“Then bring me a fried beef cutlet, fried lamb chop, or fried pork chop.”
“好的，请稍等。”
“Hǎo de, qǐng shāo děng.”
“Certainly, please wait a moment.”
过了一会儿，服务员又回来了：“非常对不起，先生，炸牛排、炸羊排、炸猪排都没有了。”
Guò le yíhuìr, fúwùyuán yòu huílái le: “Fēicháng duìbuqǐ, xiānsheng, zhá niúpái, zhá yángpái, zhá zhūpái dōu méiyǒu le.”
After a while, the waiter came back again: “I’m terribly sorry, sir, but we’re out of fried beef cutlet, fried lamb chop, and fried pork chop.”
他终于忍不住生气了，说：“好吧，我不吃了。请把我的外衣拿过来。”
Tā zhōngyú rěn bu zhù shēng qì le, shuō: “Hǎo ba, wǒ bù chī le. Qǐng bǎ wǒ de wàiyī ná guòlái.”
He finally could not hold back his anger and said, “Fine, I won’t eat. Please bring me my coat.”
“好的，请稍等。”
“Hǎo de, qǐng shāo děng.”
“Certainly, please wait a moment.”
这次，服务员很快就回来了：“真是不好意思，先生，您的外衣也没有了。”
Zhè cì, fúwùyuán hěn kuài jiù huílái le: “Zhēn shì bù hǎoyìsi, xiānsheng, nín de wàiyī yě méiyǒu le.”
This time, the waiter came back very quickly: “I’m really sorry, sir, but your coat is gone too.”
朋友问他那家饭店的名字，他一笑，说：“就叫‘没有了’。”
Péngyou wèn tā nà jiā fàndiàn de míngzi, tā yí xiào, shuō: “Jiù jiào ‘Méiyǒu le’.”
His friend asked him the name of that restaurant. He smiled and said, “It’s called ‘All Gone.’”
