běi shān bái yún lǐ, yǐn zhě zì yí yuè.
北山白云里，隐者自怡悦。
Amidst the white clouds of the northern mountain, the hermit finds his own joy.

xiāng wàng shì dēng gāo, xīn fēi zhú niǎo miè.
相望试登高，心飞逐鸟灭。
Gazing towards you, I attempt to climb high; my heart flies off, vanishing with the chasing birds.

chóu yīn bó mù qǐ, xìng shì qīng qiū fā.
愁因薄暮起，兴是清秋发。
Sorrow arises as the dusk gathers, but inspiration is sparked by the clear autumn.

shí jiàn guī cūn rén, shā xíng dù tóu xiē.
时见归村人，沙行渡头歇。
From time to time I see villagers returning, walking on the sand and resting at the ferry crossing.

tiān biān shù ruò jì, jiāng pàn zhōu rú yuè.
天边树若荠，江畔舟如月。
Trees on the horizon look like tiny shepherd's purse; a boat by the riverbank is shaped like the moon.

hé dāng zǎi jiǔ lái, gòng zuì chóng yáng jié.
何当载酒来，共醉重阳节。
When will you bring wine, so we can get drunk together on the Double Ninth Festival?
