To put one's foot in one's mouth

Shuō cuò huà, (wúyì zhōng) màofàn tārén
【解释】To say or do something that offends, upsets or embarrasses oneself and someone else.
【例句】
- Remember to say as little as possible when you join the company, because you might easily put your foot in your mouth. It's very complicated there.
记住,刚去公司时,尽量少说话,言多必失。因为那家公司内部情况很复杂。
