shān guāng hū xī luò, chí yuè jiàn dōng shàng.
山光忽西落，池月渐东上。
The mountain sunlight suddenly sets in the west, and the moon over the pond gradually rises in the east.

sàn fà chéng xī liáng, kāi xuān wò xián chǎng.
散发乘夕凉，开轩卧闲敞。
Letting my hair down to enjoy the evening coolness, I open the window and lie in the peaceful spaciousness.

hé fēng sòng xiāng qì, zhú lù dī qīng xiǎng.
荷风送香气，竹露滴清响。
The breeze through the lotus brings a fragrant scent, and the dew from the bamboo drops with a crisp sound.

yù qǔ míng qín tán, hèn wú zhī yīn shǎng.
欲取鸣琴弹，恨无知音赏。
I wish to take up my lute and play, but regret having no soulmate here to appreciate it.

gǎn cǐ huái gù rén, zhōng xiāo láo mèng xiǎng.
感此怀故人，中宵劳梦想。
Feeling this, I yearn for my old friend, and spend the midnight troubled by lingering dreams.
