Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University(广东技术师范大学)

Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University is a provincial public higher education institution with the authority to confer master’s degrees. In 2021, it was approved as a doctoral degree-granting institution under construction in Guangdong Province. It is also part of the province's "Strive for Excellence, Address Weaknesses, and Strengthen Specialization" initiative for development. The university was founded in 1957 and adheres to its motto of "Cultivate Virtue and Broaden Knowledge, Seek Innovation with Practicality." The university’s educational philosophy is focused on "serving vocational education, leading vocational education, and developing with distinctive features."

Currently, the university has 26 secondary academic units and over 36,000 full-time undergraduate students, offering 72 undergraduate programs. The university offers four master's degree programs in first-level disciplines: Education, Ethnology, Journalism and Communication, and Control Science and Engineering. It also offers six professional master's degree programs in Education, Electronic Information, Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Power Engineering, Accounting, and Journalism and Communication. The university has over 1,700 full-time graduate students and more than 200 part-time graduate students.

The university boasts a highly skilled and academically qualified faculty, including 556 professors and associate professors, with over 730 teachers holding doctoral degrees. The university has five campuses: the East Campus, West Campus, North Campus, Baiyun Campus, and Heyuan Campus.

To fully implement the provincial government’s strategic decisions for the revitalization and development of the eastern and western parts of Guangdong, as well as the spirit of the "Notice on Accelerating the Joint Construction of Undergraduate Universities by Provinces and Cities," and under the correct leadership of the provincial government and the guidance of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University has signed an agreement with the Heyuan Municipal Government to establish the Heyuan campus. The total area of the Heyuan campus is 1,081 acres, with the first phase covering 500 acres and a construction area of approximately 220,000 square meters. The total investment for the project is around 2.4 billion RMB. In September 2020, the Heyuan campus successfully passed the teaching conditions assessment organized by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education and officially opened.
