Acerca de la Universidad

Inner Mongolia Finance and Economics College is located in Hohhot, the capital city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which is also a historical and cultural city. It is the first finance and economics undergraduate college established by the state in the border ethnic regions and the only independent finance and economics college in Inner Mongolia. The college is a higher educational institution rich in innovation and with a historical mission. Established in 1960 as Inner Mongolia Finance College, it was renamed Inner Mongolia College of Finance and Trade in 1962, and again as Inner Mongolia Finance and Trade School in 1965. In 1979, it resumed undergraduate recruitment, and in 1980, it was reestablished as Inner Mongolia Finance and Economics College with approval from the State Council. The college merged with Inner Mongolia Economic Management Cadre College in 2000, and in 2006, Inner Mongolia Fiscal Tax Vocational College and the Business Administration School were incorporated. In 2012, the Ministry of Education approved its name change to Inner Mongolia Finance and Economics College.

After more than 60 years of development, the college has become a multi-disciplinary and applied university that focuses on undergraduate and graduate education, while also offering vocational education and continuing education. It primarily offers programs in economics and management, with a fusion of disciplines in science, law, engineering, and literature, characterized by its strong emphasis on finance and economics.

The college is committed to strengthening the awareness of the Chinese national community, adhering to the motto "Respect virtue, value learning, uphold reason, and embrace diversity." It follows the educational philosophy of "people-oriented, quality-driven, talent-strengthened, and law-based," and promotes a talent cultivation concept centered on "continuing the finance tradition, enhancing integration, and creating digital features." It seeks to foster cross-disciplinary integration in economics, management, science, law, engineering, and literature. The college is focused on responding to national strategies and addressing major needs, such as the Five Major Tasks given by President Xi Jinping to Inner Mongolia, and contributing to the construction of a model autonomous region.

The college's academic programs have a strong presence, with a diverse and growing range of disciplines. It offers six master's-level first-level disciplines: theoretical economics, applied economics, business administration, statistics, public administration, and Marxist theory. It has 12 professional master's degree programs, including MBA, MF, MPAcc, applied statistics, taxation, international business, asset evaluation, auditing, law, tourism management, public administration, and electronic information. It also offers one jointly established doctoral degree program.

In 2023, the college was selected as a "First-Class Discipline" institution in the region, and its statistics discipline was recognized as one of the region's first-class disciplines. The college is also focused on developing a doctoral degree program and is constructing three major discipline groups, including ten key research directions, and building a "6+1" knowledge innovation and transformation platform.

The college offers 55 undergraduate programs, with three recognized as national-level characteristic programs (Accounting, Finance, and Public Finance). Several of its other programs have been included in national and regional first-class professional programs, such as Finance, International Economics and Trade, Applied Statistics, Marketing, and Law. It has four national-level first-class courses and 28 regional first-class courses. The college places a strong emphasis on research, with over 3,600 papers published, including more than 770 in CSSCI and core journals.

The college has established itself as a key player in higher education in Inner Mongolia. It currently has over 21,000 students enrolled from 25 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China. It has a strong employment-focused approach, with the highest employment rate and quality among similar institutions in the region. The college has been recognized by the Ministry of Education as a national graduate employment training base and has won several accolades for its employment guidance services.

The college follows a "talent-strengthening" strategy, optimizing the structure of its faculty and focusing on high-level talent recruitment. It currently employs over 1,400 staff, including nearly 1,100 full-time faculty members, with more than 500 holding doctoral degrees and over 500 holding senior titles.

The college is dedicated to serving the economic and social development of the region, with numerous academic and research centers focused on regional development. It has established collaborations with a number of research institutions and has undertaken hundreds of national and provincial-level research projects, including those focused on economic management and breakthroughs in the region's development.

Looking ahead, Inner Mongolia Finance and Economics College is positioning itself for future growth, with plans to continue advancing its academic disciplines and enhance its contribution to the region's economic and social development. It aims to become a high-level applied finance and economics university with distinctive strengths and significant influence in both Western China and nationwide.
