North Sichuan Medical College (NSMC) is located in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, and has two campuses: Shunqing and Gaoping, covering an area of over 1,000 acres. The college originated as the Southwest Region North Sichuan Medical School in 1951, was upgraded to a specialized institution in 1965, and became an undergraduate college in 1985, officially named North Sichuan Medical College. It began admitting international students in 2005, obtained the right to grant master's degrees in 2006, and passed the Ministry of Education's undergraduate teaching evaluation with excellence in 2007. In 2014, it became a postdoctoral innovation practice base in Sichuan Province and was designated as a key development institution for doctoral degree programs in 2016 and 2023.
NSMC adheres to the philosophy of "governing the school by law, democratic construction, quality as the foundation, talent development, and technological advancement." It follows the motto "Dedication, Love, Truth, and Innovation," emphasizing a spirit of "hard work and self-improvement" and prioritizing quality education. The college has developed into a provincial higher medical institution with a focus on medicine, integrating disciplines like humanities, management, law, engineering, and education.
