Tianjin Normal University (hereinafter, “TNU”), founded in 1958, is a key comprehensive university focusing on teachers’ education in Tianjin. The main campus, beautiful in scenery and rich in cultural deposits, covers a land area of 2,333,333 square meters and a building area of 840,000 square meters. Balitai campus (the old campus of TNU) is located in the downtown area, near the Water Park, Olympic Stadium, and Tianjin TV tower. Situated along subway, both campuses are convenient with transportation and adequate life service facilities.
TNU now has 23 colleges and offers 69 undergraduate programs, 6 doctorate programs of first-level disciplines, 29 master programs of first-level disciplines, 13 professional master’s degree programs, covering 10 academic disciplines such as philosophy, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, history, science, engineering, management, and art.
TNU maintains openness in education. It has established cooperative ties with 159 famous universities, institutes and regional governments from more than 29 countries. With rich experience in international students’ education, TNU is one of the first “demonstration base schools (a model example of a university that excels in international education)”, authorized by Chinese Ministry of Education, for international students studying in China. Running four Confucius Institutes overseas, TNU has been awarded “Confucius Institute of the Year” “Model Confucius Institute” and rated as “Advanced Confucius Institute’ Organizer”. TNU has more than 50 years of history in international students’ recruitment and education, accumulates rich experience in teaching management, and enjoys high prestige in international students’ education.
As a Host Institution, TNU accepts international students funded by Chinese Government Scholarship, Confucius Institute Scholarship and Tianjin Government Scholarship.
TNU offers International Standard courses like Accounting (International Accounting). Based on multilateral cooperation with universities in the UK, USA and Australia, TNU and its partner universities have achieved mutual recognition of credits and dual-degree awarding and enabled students to pursue a “cross-border” study in the multicultural background. This program－providing specialized courses, conducted in English, with extensive adaptability and international compatibility－enjoys great popularity among international students.
