Xiamen Huaxia University is an ordinary university for undergraduate education approved by the Ministry of Education. With a history of over 20 years, it serves as a university of applied sciences with distinctive features and a high reputation.
Founded in 1993, the university occupies over 33 hectares, including buildings for teaching, experiments and administration, as well as a library, activity center and stadium.
It has opened four schools, covering information and smart electromechanical engineering, environment and public health, business and management, and the humanities. Managed independently, the schools integrate the university's teaching resources and highlight innovation.
The university now has more than 300 full-time teachers, who make up a quality teaching and research team. Many of them have been awarded as Fujian's famous and excellent teachers, and listed in the ministry’s talent program and the national talent project.
With a focus on innovative talent training, the university has stepped up efforts to enhance the integration of education and production, university-enterprise cooperation and training of application-oriented talents. It has been included in multiple projects, such as the Ministry of Education-ZTE ICT Industry and Education Innovation Center program, the first batch of the Hundred Universities Project, and the promotion program of Internet Plus and Made in China 2025 production-education integration. Furthermore, it has established cooperative relationships with over 200 companies, including the insurance company PingAn and China Telecom.
Huaxia University encourages students to organize innovation and entrepreneurship teams, offering professional guidance and special funds. Meanwhile, the university has built a 4,000-square-meter entrepreneurial park, which has incubated more than 10 projects. The park works with such institutions as SAP University Alliances and German Chambers of Commerce Worldwide Network (AHK) to build a base for university-enterprise innovation and entrepreneurship training.
In addition, the university puts equal emphasis on "going out" and "bringing in". It studies the education experiences of developed countries and regions, advances academic communication, promotes Chinese language and culture, and introduces international models for vocational education and overseas professional elites.
It has signed agreements with universities and colleges from the United States and Taiwan, including the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, National Taichung University of Science and Technology and Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology. They exchange teachers and students, with over 200 students having been sent to Taiwan and the US on exchange studies.
