Lesson 10 How Many People Are There in Your Family

玛丽：这是你的照片吗？
张红：对，是我家的照片。
玛丽：你家有几口人？
张红：我家有五口人：爷爷、奶奶、爸爸、妈妈和我。
玛丽：你没有哥哥姐姐吗？
张红：没有，现在中国家庭一般只有一个孩子。玛丽，你家都有什么人？
玛丽：我家有爸爸、妈妈、哥哥、弟弟、妹妹，还有一条狗。
张红：一共六口人？
玛丽：不，七口。
张红：爸爸、妈妈、一个哥哥、一个弟弟、一个妹妹和你，六口，对吧？
玛丽：不对，还有一条狗。
张红：是这样......



Mǎlì: Zhè shì nǐ de zhàopiàn ma?
Zhāng hóng: Duì, shì wǒ jiā de zhàopiàn.
Mǎlì: Nǐ jiā yǒu jǐ kǒu rén?
Zhāng hóng: Wǒjiā yǒu wǔ kǒu rén: yéye, nǎinai, bàba, māma hé wǒ.
Mǎlì: Nǐ méiyǒu gēge jiějie ma?
Zhāng hóng: Méiyǒu, xiànzài Zhōngguó jiātíng yìbān zhǐ yǒu yígè háizi. Mǎlì, nǐ jiā dōu yǒu shénme rén?
Mǎlì: Wǒjiā yǒu bàba, māma, gēge, dìdi, mèimei, hái yǒu yìtiáo gǒu.
Zhāng hóng: Yígòng liù kǒu rén?
Mǎlì: Bù, qī kǒu.
Zhāng hóng: Bàba, māma, yí ge gēge, yí ge dìdi, yí gè mèimei hé nǐ, liù kǒu, duì ba?
Mǎlì: Búduì, hái yǒu yì tiáo gǒu.
Zhāng hóng: Shì zhèyàng......


Mary : Is this your photo?
Zhang Hong: Yes, it's a picture of my family.
Mary: How many people are there in your family?
Zhang Hong: There are five people in any family: my (paternal) grandfather , my (paternal) grandmother, my father, my mother and I.
Mary: You don't have any elder brothers or sisters?
Zhang Hong: No, I don't. Nowadays Chinese families generally have just one child. Mary, how many people are there in your family?
Mary: My family consists of any father, any mother, an elder brother, a younger brother, a younger sister, and one dog.
Zhang Hong: A total of six people?
Mary: No, seven.
Zhang Hong: Your father, your mother, your older and younger brothers, your younger sister, and you. That makes six, doesn't it?
Mary: No...there's also the dog.
Thang Hong: Oh, so that's it...
