by 刘长卿(Liú Chángqīng)
wàng jūn yān shuǐ kuò, huī shǒu lèi zhān jīn.
望君烟水阔,挥手泪沾巾。
Gazing after you, the smoky waters are vast; waving goodbye, tears soak my handkerchief.
fēi niǎo mò hé chù, qīng shān kōng xiàng rén.
飞鸟没何处,青山空向人。
Where have the flying birds vanished? Only the green mountains remain, facing me in empty silence.
cháng jiāng yī fān yuǎn, luò rì wǔ hú chūn.
长江一帆远,落日五湖春。
On the Long River, your single sail fades into the distance; the setting sun illuminates the spring scenery of the Five Lakes.
shéi jiàn tīng zhōu shàng, xiāng sī chóu bái pín. 谁见汀洲上,相思愁白蘋。 Who sees me standing on the sandy islet? Filled with longing, I grieve amidst the white duckweed.
