Chifeng University is located in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, the renowned birthplace of the "Hongshan Culture." Established in 1957 as Chifeng Normal School, it was renamed Chifeng University in 2003 and upgraded to an undergraduate institution. In 2016, it was designated as a pilot institution for regional transformation and included in the national "Hundred Schools Integration Development Engineering Plan for Applied Undergraduate Institutions." In 2018, it became a master's degree-granting institution and successfully passed the Ministry of Education's undergraduate teaching work review and evaluation.

The university occupies an area of 1,135 acres, comprising 19 administrative offices, 4 teaching support units, 25 secondary colleges, and 3 affiliated entities (including two hospitals and a secondary school). Among these, the affiliated hospital is a national Grade III Class A comprehensive hospital, while the Second Affiliated Hospital is the first modern Grade III Class A oncology hospital in eastern Inner Mongolia. The university currently enrolls 14,632 full-time students, including 13,813 undergraduates, 728 graduate students, and 91 international students.

Academic Programs and Achievements

Chifeng University offers 56 undergraduate programs across 11 disciplines, including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and the arts. These include one national-level first-class undergraduate program, one national-level specialized program, 14 regional first-class undergraduate programs, and 4 first-tier admission programs. It has 13 master's degree authorization points, 1 national first-class course, and 30 regional first-class courses. Since the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the university has received 8 teaching achievement awards at the provincial level or above, including two national second prizes.

Faculty

The university has 1,486 faculty members, including 932 full-time teachers, of whom 101 are professors and 365 are associate professors. Additionally, 259 faculty members hold doctoral degrees, making up 27.79% of full-time teaching staff. It also boasts 366 dual-qualified teachers, 180 academic advisors for master's students, and 169 practical advisors. The faculty includes recipients of prestigious titles such as:

  • National Experts: 3 recipients of State Council special allowances
  • Regional Scholars: Including "Western Light Scholars," "Grassland Talent" awardees, and "321 Talent Program" participants
  • Outstanding Educators: 7 regional teaching teams and 11 teaching masters

Research and Development

The university hosts 76 research and science education institutions, including 60 research units and 16 science education bases. Highlights include:

  • National-level Bases: 1 national science education base
  • Regional-level Units: 14 regional research institutions and 14 science education bases
  • City-level Units: 3 city-level research institutions

Since the "14th Five-Year Plan," Chifeng University has been awarded 1,491 research projects, including 35 national projects, 9 ministry-level projects, and 674 regional projects. Faculty members have published 436 papers in national core journals and authored or co-authored 260 books and teaching materials.

Strategic Vision

In 2019, the university convened its third Party Congress and proposed a three-step development strategy aimed at creating Chifeng University, a high-level applied university with distinctive characteristics. To support this vision:

  • In 2022, it established the Strategic Development Advisory Committee, enlisting nine prominent experts, including academicians and "Changjiang Scholars."
  • In 2023, the Education Development Foundation was launched to attract societal resources.
  • Campus development projects covering a total area of 182,000 square meters, with a budget of 850 million RMB, have commenced.
