看来 (kànlái) can be translated as "it seems" and is used by the speaker to introduce his understanding of a situation.

“看来”表达说话者对某个情况的推论

看来(It seems…) + Perspective (a sentence)

外面风变大了，看来快下雨了。
看来事情没这么糟。
你看起来不开心，看来这次你没有通过考试。
你怎么回来了，看来会议取消了。
The wind outside is picking up, it looks like it's going to rain soon.
It seems like things aren't so bad after all.
You don't look happy, it seems like you didn't pass the exam this time.
Why are you back? It looks like the meeting was cancelled.
