Haihua College, Liaoning Normal University, established in July 2000, is an independent college approved by the Ministry of Education and organized by Liaoning Normal University, a key provincial university. The college is a comprehensive full-time undergraduate institution offering a blend of liberal arts and sciences. The college is located in Zhuanghe, a city within the North Yellow Sea Economic Development Zone in Dalian, Liaoning Province. It covers an area of 616,000 square meters (approximately 924 acres) with a building area of about 214,000 square meters. Additionally, the college has an on-campus internship and practical training base covering 284,000 square meters (about 472 acres), with a per-student land area well beyond national standards.
Currently, the college has 519 full-time and part-time faculty members and 7,988 students. It offers programs across a variety of disciplines including law, literature, engineering, science, management, arts, and education, with 28 majors. The current majors being offered are Law, Ideological and Political Education, Accounting, Auditing, Tourism Management, Chinese Language and Literature, Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Preschool Education, Journalism, Advertising, Internet and New Media, English, Japanese, Computer Science and Technology, Digital Media Technology, Data Science and Big Data Technology, Software Engineering, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Environmental Design, Visual Communication Design, Physical Education, and Primary Education. The college enrolls students from 21 provinces across China.
The total value of teaching and research equipment is 43.646 million yuan, with an average of 5,464.03 yuan per student. The college currently has 41 laboratories, and the library covers over 36,000 square meters with a collection of 806,800 books.
In nearly two decades of development, the college has adhered to the educational principles of the Communist Party, upholding the motto "Virtue and Knowledge, Self-improvement" and has built a strong teaching team composed of provincial teaching experts and authoritative professors (some of whom are included in the National Talent Pool of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology). The college has also guided students to win over 3,000 awards in various competitions.
