Nanchang Business College of JXAU is a full-time applied undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education, primarily focused on economics and management disciplines, with coordinated development across multiple fields including liberal arts, law, engineering, agriculture, and the arts.
Founded in 2001 as the Jiangxi Agricultural University Binjiang College, the name was changed to Jiangxi Agricultural University Business College in 2002 and was officially confirmed as Nanchang Business College of JXAU in 2003 by the Ministry of Education. In response to the decisions of the provincial government, the college relocated to the Ganjing New District in Gongqing City’s Science and Education City in 2017, marking the beginning of a new stage in its development. The college covers an area of over 700 acres and currently has more than 12,000 students.
Building on over 80 years of undergraduate education experience at Jiangxi Agricultural University and its strengths in various academic disciplines, the college now consists of eight teaching units: the Departments of Accounting, Economics, Management, Humanities and Arts, Foreign Languages, Computer Science, Marxism, and Military Sports. It offers 33 undergraduate programs, including Accounting, Digital Economy, Business Administration, Journalism, English, and Computer Science and Technology. Among these, ten programs, such as Chinese Language, Japanese, and Tourism Management, rank first in comprehensive evaluations of similar programs in Jiangxi Province. The college ranks highly in overall professional evaluations among similar institutions in the province, and its distinctive educational features and level are becoming increasingly prominent.
The college boasts modern infrastructure, with more than 200,000 square meters of building area. It has over 80 multimedia classrooms, and more than 60 professional teaching laboratories, including a Business Virtual Simulation Center, an Accounting Firm Simulation Training Center, and an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lab. The library holds over 800,000 volumes of books, and the college has more than 100 teaching and practical training bases both within and outside the province. The campus is scientifically divided, with well-planned areas and full coverage of network services, ensuring campus safety. It is a modern, comprehensive university with a rich cultural atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, integrating teaching, research, training, study, and life.
The college adheres to a new philosophy for teacher development, offering diverse platforms for growth to enhance teacher qualifications. It has formed a team of full-time and part-time faculty members who are highly qualified and aligned with the construction of a high-quality applied undergraduate institution. The faculty includes over 200 teachers with senior professional titles, one "Double Thousand" leading talent in Jiangxi Province, two mid-career discipline leaders in provincial universities, two gold medal teachers in Jiangxi Province, and several other recognized educators. The faculty members have also led over 10 national-level research projects and published more than 100 academic papers, receiving numerous provincial awards for teaching and research, including the First Prize of Jiangxi Provincial Teaching Achievement Award and the Second Prize of Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
Over the past 20 years, the college has consistently upheld the educational philosophy of "Business for National Prosperity, Learning for Practical Application," and has adhered to the strategies of strengthening the school with talent, establishing quality as its foundation, and promoting its unique characteristics. The college emphasizes a balanced approach to general and specialized education, strengthening faculty teams, highlighting distinctive features, and improving quality. It has cultivated nearly 30,000 applied talents for the nation and society. Over 1,200 graduates have been admitted to prestigious universities such as Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Xiamen University, Jinan University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and many others for Master's degree studies. Prominent alumni include Liang Zhenyu, a youth leader in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and Cheng Zhiwang, a Forbes U30 honoree. In recent years, students have achieved impressive results in various competitions, such as winning the Bronze Award in the 7th China International "Internet+" College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the Second Prize in the "Foster Cup" National Auditing Elite Challenge, with over 200 national-level honors and more than 1,000 provincial-level honors.
The college has been recognized for three consecutive years as an excellent unit in the work of the Communist Youth League in provincial universities. It has received numerous awards, including the Advanced Collective in Ideological and Political Work in Jiangxi Province, the Excellent Organization Award for National Security Publicity Activities, and the Advanced Collective in College Logistics and Catering Services.
