Shandong University of Political Science and Law (SDUPL) is a provincial public undergraduate university. Located in Jinan, a famous historical and cultural city, the university boasts a legacy of excellence and a gathering of talented individuals. After 70 years of dedicated development, it has evolved into an application-oriented university of political science and law. While focusing on undergraduate education, the university also provides postgraduate, vocational, and international student education. History and Development

• July 20, 1955: The People's Committee of Shandong Province decided to establish the Shandong Provincial Political and Legal Cadre School.

• February 24, 1959: Shandong University of Political Science and Law was established; Shu Tong, then First Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, inscribed the school name.

• December 23, 1979: The Shandong Provincial Political and Legal Cadre School was re-established.

• October 3, 1983: It was reorganized into the Shandong Provincial Judicial Management Cadre Institute.

• March 1986: The school moved to its current campus.

• October 19, 1987: Approved by the Provincial Government, it was renamed Shandong Provincial Political and Legal Management Cadre Institute.

• February 2005: Preparations began for the re-establishment of Shandong University of Political Science and Law.

• March & April 2007: The Ministry of Education and the Shandong Provincial People's Government officially approved the establishment of SDUPL.

• June 3, 2008: The university was authorized to grant bachelor's degrees.

• 2011: Obtained the qualification to cultivate Master of Laws (LL.M.) professional degree students.

• 2015: Passed the Ministry of Education's undergraduate teaching qualification assessment.

• July 2017: Became an official member of the "League of Integrity" (a national alliance of political science and law universities).

• February 17, 2021: Selected as one of the first supported units for the construction of application-oriented undergraduate universities in Shandong Province.

• September 2022: The third Party Congress of SDUPL proposed the "12357" development strategy, marking a new journey of high-quality development.

• 2024: Approved as a master's degree-granting unit and a Master of Laws degree authorization point.

• Institutions: 13 teaching units, 1 provincial-level key laboratory (Evidence Identification), and 2 provincial research centers focusing on Civil/Commercial Law and Cyber Digital Forensics.

The university has built a robust "122" academic structure: Law as the backbone; Economics and Management as two wings; Literature and Engineering as support. It also follows a "135" disciplinary system, prioritizing Law while strengthening Applied Economics, Journalism, and Discipline Inspection/Supervision.

SDUPL serves national strategies and local economic needs through five major professional clusters: Law, New Generation Information Technology, Digital Economy, Modern Communication, and Health Care. It offers 28 undergraduate majors, including:

As a leader in legal education in Shandong, SDUPL is the first provincial university to hold all "Triple Key" projects in Law:
