Xi'an Siyuan University(西安思源学院)

Xi'an Siyuan University is a regular undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education. It is a joint postgraduate training demonstration workstation approved by eight provincial departments, including the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, and holds the distinction of being the first private university in Shaanxi Province authorized to enroll students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.

Founded in 1998 by the renowned private education expert Professor Zhou Yanbo, the university has consistently championed innovative education. Aiming to build a distinctive, high-level applied university, it focuses on discipline development, faculty building, and the creation of efficient management platforms. By strengthening the management of both teaching and student learning processes, the university has continuously improved its undergraduate education quality, highlighted its vocational education features, and established a foundational layout for postgraduate education.

Today, it is a comprehensive, modern private university coordinating multiple educational formats—including undergraduate, junior college (associate degree), continuing education, and postgraduate studies—across diverse disciplines such as Engineering, Science, Medicine, Literature, Economics, Management, Law, Education, and Arts. The university currently operates 14 secondary colleges and 1 continuing education college. It has co-established joint master’s degree training workstations with Chang'an University, Yan'an University, and Xi'an Physical Education University, and currently serves a student body of nearly 22,000.

Originating from the Self-Taught Higher Education Examination Tutorial Center of the Mechanical Engineering College at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), the institution inherited XJTU's century-old excellent tradition of "studying diligently and precisely, cultivating earnestness and strong aspirations."

• Upgrading to Bachelor’s & Graduate Studies: Dedicated tutoring centers assist students in transferring from junior college to bachelor's degree programs (Zhuan Sheng Ben) and preparing for graduate school. For two decades, Siyuan's upgrade exam passing rate has remained among the highest in Shaanxi (consistently exceeding 93.5% from 2022-2024, with numerous students scoring perfectly in higher mathematics), helping nearly 10,000 students earn undergraduate degrees and over 1,000 enter graduate programs.

President Zhou Yanbo attended the China-Central Asia Summit business meeting, signing an education framework agreement with the Kyrgyz Ministry of Culture and a cooperative agreement with Osh State University. In 2024, the first cohort of international students under the Xi'an "Belt and Road" scholarship program, recommended by Osh State University, officially commenced their studies at Siyuan.
