Youjiang Medical University For Nationalities, established in 1958 and located in Baise City, Guangxi, China, is a full-time regular undergraduate institution directly under the administration of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The university undertakes the education of undergraduates, postgraduate students, and international students. It serves as the largest higher medical education center, healthcare service hub, and medical scientific research center in the border area of "two countries and three provinces" (the two countries being China and Vietnam, and the three provinces being Guangxi, Yunnan, and Guizhou).
The university has two campuses, covering a total area of 1.067 million square meters.
YMUN consists of 14 schools (departments), such as the School of Basic Medical Sciences, School of Clinical Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Public Health, and School of Pharmacy, and 2 directly-affiliated hospitals, 7 indirectly-affiliated hospitals, and 119 teaching practice bases. It has 2 first-level master's degree authorization points (covering 21 second-level disciplines) and 8 master's professional degree authorization points. There are nearly 30,000, including full-time undergraduates, graduate students, and international students.
We have signed educational cooperation and exchange agreements with educational institutions from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, Malaysia, Thailand and so forth. In 2000, YMUN was approved to recruit international students. Today, there are approximately 800 international students from more than 20 countries. Taking advantage of Belt and Road Initiative and the growing cooperation between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), YMUN sets up an international education platform and strives to open up new possibilities for international education cooperation.
