中文短篇故事 13 | 两个水罐 Two Water Jars | 听故事学中文 | Chinese short story

从前，一个农夫有两个水罐，一个完好无损，一个有一条裂缝。农夫每次挑水，完好的水罐总能把水装满，一滴不漏地运到主人家，而有裂缝的水罐回到主人家时，往往只剩下一半的水。

有裂缝的水罐因此感到非常自卑。

一天，它在小溪边对主人说：“主人，我对自己每次只能运送半罐水而感到惭愧。你把我丢掉吧!”

农夫摇摇头，他指着路的一侧，笑着说：”你有看见路旁那些盛开的花朵吗？这些花只生长在你那一边，而没有生长在另一边。因为你有这条裂缝，你才能日日浇灌这些花朵，让它们长大。如果没有你，我们又怎能欣赏到沿路美丽的花朵呢？”

每个人都有缺点，但如果能换个角度看，或许缺点也会变成优点！

Two Water Jugs
Once upon a time, a farmer had two water jugs: one was completely intact, and the other had a crack. Every time the farmer carried water, the intact jug would always deliver a full load of water without spilling a drop, while the cracked jug would often only have half its water left by the time it reached the farmer's house.
Because of this, the cracked jug felt very ashamed.
One day, by the stream, it said to its owner: "Master, I feel ashamed of myself for only being able to deliver half a jug of water each time. You should throw me away!"
The farmer shook his head, pointed to one side of the path, and smiled, saying: "Did you see the flowers blooming along the roadside? These flowers only grow on your side, and do not grow on the other side. Because of your crack, you are able to water these flowers every day, allowing them to grow. If it weren’t for you, how could we enjoy the beautiful flowers along the road?"
Everyone has flaws, but if you look at them from a different perspective, those flaws might turn into strengths!
