mù luò yàn nán dù, běi fēng jiāng shàng hán.
木落雁南度，北风江上寒。
Leaves are falling, wild geese fly south; the north wind blows cold on the river.

wǒ jiā xiāng shuǐ shàng, yáo gé chǔ yún duān.
我家襄水上，遥隔楚云端。
My home is by the Xiang River, far away, separated by the clouds of Chu.

xiāng lèi kè zhōng jìn, gū fān tiān jì kàn.
乡泪客中尽，孤帆天际看。
Tears of homesickness are exhausted in a foreign land; I watch a lone sail fade into the horizon.

mí jīn yù yǒu wèn, píng hǎi xī màn màn.
迷津欲有问，平海夕漫漫。
Lost at the ford, I wish to ask the way; but the twilight over the wide water stretches endlessly.
