Located in Huadu District of Guangzhou, where is also included in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou City University of Technology (GCUT) covers an area of around 1,753 mu (about 289 acres) with favorable conditions such as its transportation and geographic location. Surrounded by mountains and waters with evergreen trees and various flowers, GCUT also provides different kinds of infrastructure, including standard track field and swimming pool, stadium, tennis court and Student Activity Center. It has four canteens and one western restaurant. Meanwhile, it provides well-rounded guarantee for its teachers and students with outstanding teaching conditions and necessary facilities, such as teaching buildings, laboratory buildings and practice bases. Meanwhile, air conditioning and WIFI are fully covered in teaching and dormitory areas. As for campus environment, GCUT has built several distinctive scenes such as Mingbian Lake and Xinxing Lake (meaning that it is similar to the shape of a heart). Its green areas exceed 400,000㎡ with over 5,000 trees and flowers, which provides better campus environment while creating humanistic atmosphere. Moreover, electric school buses run from the gate of the GCUT to its Fourth Canteen, covering the major area of the university.

International accreditation

GCUT takes an active part in promoting international professional accreditation, consequently, it succeeded in being accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) and Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET), which makes it to be the first university certified by the IACBE in China while winning itself the vice-president unit in Asia of the IACBE. In this way, it implies that the teaching quality of the GCUT draws level with international peers, thus realizing dialogue on an equal footing. The international accreditation of the GCUT pioneers among various universities, with that of business studies topping among same-level universities. Moreover, it leads the way to international accreditation among same-level colleges and universities.

 

Professional accreditation of engineering by the IEET: GCUT’s talent cultivation has met EAC international certification regulations

Three majors, namely, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering, have been accredited by the IEET.

International accreditation of the IACBE: the first university in China that was accreditated, and it is a vice-president unit in Asia of the IACBE

In 2018, achievements in four majors including International Economics and Trade, Business Administration, Marketing and Accounting passed the review of the IACBE, thus acquiring its membership, which makes the GCUT to be the first university passed the international accreditation of the IACBE. Furthermore, GCUT made great progress in international accreditation of business studies with 7 majors (specialties) of business studies succeeding in passing the accreditation, symbolizing all the business disciplines of the university were accredited. In 2019, GCUT was elected as a vice-president unit in Asia of the IACBE. In the future, it will strive to promote the development of business education in Asian universities with the IACBE.
