Jilin Medical University (JMU) is located in Jilin City, known as the "Northern River City" and the "Capital of Rime." Established in 1952, its predecessor was the Jilin Military Medical College of the Fourth Military Medical University of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, which was once the sole medical institution in the Air Force system. In August 2004, the university transitioned from military to provincial administration and is now the only independent Western medicine undergraduate institution in Jilin Province.
JMU has earned numerous accolades, including:
- National Green Model Unit, First Emergency Education Pilot School, National Health School Construction Unit, and National Red Cross Model School.
