Sally’s mom came to the school today, she gave the teacher some coffee and the teacher gave her a Chinese language book. At noon, the teacher invited Sally and her mom to have lunch at the restaurant, together they ate the best dishes at that restaurant, fish and mutton.
语法点 Grammar Points
1. “给”:(1)动词,可以带两个宾语构成双宾语句。例如:
“给”:(1)Verb, which can take two objects to form a double object sentence. For example:
我给您一本中文书吧。
Let me give you a Chinese language book.
她给了老师一些咖啡。
She gave the teacher some coffee.
(2)介词,和名词或代词一起组成句子的状语,放在动词前。例如:

2. 程度副词“最”:修饰形容词或心理动词,表示某一方面的最高程度。例如:
The adverb of degree“最”, used to modify adjectives or modal verbs. It expresses the highest degree of a certain aspect. For example:
这是墨西哥最好的咖啡。
This is the best Mexican coffee.
你们这儿最好吃的菜是什么?
What’s the best dish you have here?
我最喜欢吃羊肉。
I like to eat mutton best.
3. 语气助词“吧”:用来表示商量、建议等,让语气更加委婉。例如:
The modal particle“吧”: used to soften the tone of a discussion, suggestion etc. For example:

I’ll give your mom a Chinese language book.
我请你们喝茶吧。
Let me invite you to drink tea.

4. 动词+数量补语“一下”:“一下”是“介绍”的补语,因为这个补语表示动作、行为进行的数量、次数,所以叫做动量补语。“动词+一下”表示动作的轻、短或表示轻松的语气等。例如:
