[Overview]
Jinci College of Shanxi Medical University, established in 2002, is the only independent college in Shanxi Province focused primarily on medical programs, offering full-time undergraduate education. Approved by the Ministry of Education and the Shanxi Provincial Government, it is hosted by Shanxi Medical University and operated through innovative mechanisms and models with social participation.
The college has two campuses: the Jinci Campus, located in the historic city of Taiyuan near the ancient Jinci Temple, offering a serene and green environment; and the Jinzhong Campus, situated in Qixian near the renowned Qiao Family Courtyard, with distinctive European-style architecture. The college currently enrolls 7,157 students and employs 749 staff members, including 481 full-time and part-time teachers, 86.2% of whom hold intermediate or senior professional titles.

The college comprises eight departments: Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Stomatology, Preventive Medicine and Management, Medical Laboratory Science, Rehabilitation Therapy, Medical Imaging, and Basic Sciences. It offers 13 undergraduate programs, including Clinical Medicine, Stomatology, Anesthesiology, Nursing, Preventive Medicine, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Rehabilitation Therapy, Ophthalmology, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Preparations, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In recent years, the Stomatology program was approved as a provincial-level undergraduate specialty construction project in 2017, while the Nursing program received support as a provincial-level characteristic specialty in 2018. The college admits students through national college entrance exams, vocational upgrading programs, and bachelor's degree transfer programs. In 2019, it gained approval to enroll international students.

Relying on Shanxi Medical University's resources, the college has established 52 teaching hospitals and internship bases across Shanxi, Beijing, Tianjin, and Xinjiang, creating a strong and diverse practice base. In 2019, the Xinjiang Corps Sixth Division Hospital was added as a teaching hospital, along with affiliations with top-tier hospitals such as the Third and Fifth People's Hospitals of Datong City and the General Hospital of the Tongmei Group. These partnerships provide students with expanded opportunities for clinical training and employment.

The Jinci Campus offers a garden-like environment, while the Jinzhong Campus features distinctive European-style architecture. The college has invested heavily in 88 modern laboratories with a total value of nearly 40 million yuan. These include digital anatomy labs, 3D virtual anatomy displays, advanced physiological and nursing training systems, and VR-based teaching tools.

Graduates have been accepted into prestigious institutions like Peking Union Medical College, Capital Medical University, and Zhejiang University. Notably, the Nursing program maintains a 97% employment rate, with graduates sought after by leading medical institutions.

Specialized teaching teams include renowned anesthesiologist Liu Baojiang's team and anatomist Yang Guijiao's team.
