Neijiang Normal University is a full-time undergraduate institution of higher education established by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and managed by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education. It is located in Neijiang City, an important hub in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. The university began offering higher education in 1956 and upholds the motto "Virtue, Knowledge, Action, Innovation." Rich History and Cultural Heritage
The university's tradition of teacher education dates back to the Neijiang County Government Teacher Training School, established in 1905, with higher education beginning in 1956 through the Neijiang Junior Teacher Training Class. It became Neijiang Normal College in 2000 following the merger of Neijiang Teachers' College and Neijiang Educational College. In 2021, the institution relocated to its new campus in Gaoqiao. Neijiang is renowned as a cultural and artistic hub, the birthplace of luminaries like Confucius' teacher Chang Hong, painter Zhang Daqian, and journalist Fan Changjiang. Ranked 372nd in the 2024 Soft Science China University Rankings, the university has received numerous accolades, including "National Public Institution Energy-Saving Model Unit," "National Mass Sports Advanced Unit," "Sichuan Province Advanced Unit," and "Sichuan Province Civilized Campus."
