À propos de l'Université

China West Normal University (CWNU) is a key provincial university in Sichuan Province and one of the first universities in the province to be part of the "Double First-Class" initiative. Located in the historic and culturally rich city of Nanchong, its origins trace back to the relocation of Northeast National University to Mianyang County, Sichuan Province, during the War of Resistance Against Japan. After the war, Northeast National University returned to Shenyang, leaving behind faculty and students who founded the private North Sichuan Agricultural and Industrial College in 1946. This marked the beginning of CWNU's educational legacy.

In 1949, the school incorporated Xishan Academy, founded by renowned Mohist scholar Wu Feibai, and was renamed Private North Sichuan University. A year later, it merged with the private North Sichuan Academy of Literature to become the public North Sichuan University, relocating to Nanchong. In 1952, it integrated several departments from institutions such as Sichuan University and West China Union University to establish Sichuan Normal College. After a series of reorganizations and renamings, it was officially renamed West China Normal University in 2003 with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
