Jiangxi University of Technology(江西科技学院)

Jiangxi University of Technology is a private full-time undergraduate institution directly under the provincial government of Jiangxi. It was originally founded as Jiangxi Provincial Advanced Vocational School in 1994, and in 1999, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to become a regular higher vocational college, renamed Lantian Vocational and Technical College. In 2005, it was upgraded to an undergraduate institution and renamed Jiangxi Lantian College. In 2009, the college was granted the authority to award bachelor's degrees, and in 2012, it was renamed Jiangxi University of Technology. In 2015, the university was approved as a postdoctoral innovation practice base in Jiangxi Province, and in 2016, it was approved as a master’s degree granting institution for development.

The university has consistently ranked among the top private universities in China for the past decade. It has been recognized as a "National Advanced Unit for Vocational Education," one of "China’s Top 10 Brand Private Universities," "Top 10 Brand Universities in Jiangxi," and a "National Advanced Social Organization."

The university is located in Nanchang, the capital city of Jiangxi Province, also known as the "Hero City" and a historical and cultural hub of Jiangnan. The campus covers nearly 2,000 acres, with a total building area of over 1 million square meters. The library houses more than 5 million physical and electronic books, and the total value of teaching and research equipment exceeds 300 million yuan. The university currently has over 42,000 full-time students and more than 2,800 faculty and staff members. It is composed of 14 academic schools and 1 teaching department, offering 56 undergraduate programs and 40 diploma programs. The university has been approved for 4 provincial-level excellent courses, 9 provincial-level resource-sharing courses, 5 provincial-level online open courses, 15 provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses, 1 provincial-level course cultivation and sharing plan, 11 provincial-level teaching achievement awards, and 4 provincial-level educational science achievement awards.

The university places a high emphasis on scientific and technological innovation, actively promoting the development of science and technology platforms, key project incubation, and the output of technological achievements. It has established 9 provincial-level research platforms and 22 city- and district-level research platforms. The university has received approval for 9 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 2 National Social Science Foundation projects, and more than 940 provincial and ministerial-level educational and social science projects. It holds over 3,000 intellectual property rights and has published over 1,100 papers in Chinese core journals and more than 350 academic papers in SCI, CSSCI, CSCD, and EI journals. The university has been awarded 1 second-class prize for technological progress in Jiangxi Province and 12 Jiangxi Social Science Excellent Achievement Awards. In the past three years, the university has won 3,058 awards in provincial and national academic competitions such as the "Challenge Cup" and "Internet+" competitions, including 1 national first prize and 3 second prizes in the 2023 "Challenge Cup."

The founder of the university, Mr. Yu Guo, is a representative of the Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh National People’s Congress and a standing committee member of the Twelfth and Thirteenth Jiangxi Provincial People’s Congress. He has been recognized as one of "China's Top 10 Outstanding Youths," "National Model Worker," "National Self-Reliance Model," "National Excellent Educator," and "Outstanding Builder of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics." He has been received by national leaders multiple times.
