Zhōngcūn: Mǎlì, zhōumò qù nóngcūn de lǚxíng zěnmeyàng?
Nakamura: Mary, how was the weekend trip to the countryside?
Mǎlì: Hěn búcuò. Shàngwǔ wǒmen xiān cānguān le yì suǒ jìnglǎoyuàn, ránhòu cānguān le yì suǒ yòu’éryuán, wǒmen hé háizimen yìqǐ chàng gē, tiào wǔ, zuò yóuxì, fēicháng yǒu yìsi.
Mary: It was very nice. In the morning, we first visited a nursing home, then visited a kindergarten. We sang, danced, and played games with the children. It was very interesting.
Zhōngcūn: Qù nóngmín jiā le ma?
Nakamura: Did you go to a farmer’s home?
Mary: Yes, we did. We even ate at a farmer’s home.
Nakamura: Did you go anywhere else afterward?
Mary: In the afternoon, we climbed a nearby mountain. There was an ancient section of the Great Wall on the mountain, and it was very magnificent.
Zhōngcūn: Shì shénme shān?
Nakamura: What mountain was it?
Mǎlì: Xiǎng bu qǐ shān de míngzi lái le, tīngshuō shì nà ge dìqū zuì gāo de shān, yǒu jǐ bǎi mǐ gāo ba.
Mary: I can’t remember the name of the mountain. I heard it’s the highest mountain in that area, probably several hundred meters high.
Zhōngcūn: Nàme gāo, nǐ pá de shàngqù ma?
Nakamura: That high? Were you able to climb up?
Mǎlì: Zài péngyoumen de gǔlì xià, wǒ hǎo bù róngyì cái pá le shàngqù. Cóng shān shàng wǎng yuǎnchù yí kàn, měi jí le: lánlán de tiān, báibái de yún, hónghóng de huā, lǜlǜ de cǎo, xiǎoniǎo zài tiān shàng fēi lái fēi qù…… zhēn xiàng yì fú fēngjǐng huàr.
Mary: With my friends’ encouragement, I finally managed to climb up after great effort. Looking into the distance from the mountain, it was extremely beautiful: the blue sky, white clouds, red flowers, green grass, and little birds flying back and forth in the sky… It really looked like a landscape painting.
Zhōngcūn: Tīng nǐ zhème yì shuō, wǒ zhēn hòuhuǐ méiyǒu qù.
Nakamura: Hearing you describe it like that, I really regret not going.
Mǎlì: Méi guānxi, wǒ zhào le hěn duō xiàngpiàn, kěyǐ sòng gěi nǐ.
Mary: It’s okay. I took a lot of photos, and I can give some to you.
