Anyang Institute of Technology(安阳工学院)

Anyang Institute of Technology is located in Anyang, Henan Province, a city renowned for its rich history and culture and one of China's Eight Great Ancient Capitals. Positioned at the intersection of Shanxi, Hebei, and Henan provinces, Anyang is bordered by the Taihang Mountains to the west, fertile plains to the east, the Yellow River and Luoyang to the south, and the Beijing-Tianjin region to the north. With excellent transportation links, the city is traversed by the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, the Changyuan-Yancheng Railway, and the Nanchang-Changzhi Expressway. Anyang is the birthplace of oracle bone script, the origin of the I Ching, and the hometown of Yue Fei. It is home to the Cao Cao Mausoleum, the artificial canal Red Flag Canal, and the Chinese Character Museum, showcasing its profound cultural heritage.

Founded in 1983, Anyang Institute of Technology was officially upgraded to a public full-time undergraduate institution with Ministry of Education approval in 2004. It is a demonstrative applied-technical undergraduate institution in Henan Province and a key development unit for master’s degree granting. In 2013, the university passed the Ministry of Education’s undergraduate teaching evaluation with excellent results.

The campus spans over 1,500 acres with a building area of approximately 900,000 square meters. The university has around 24,000 students, including 94 graduate students in joint training programs. It consists of 21 schools and departments offering 63 undergraduate majors across eight disciplines: engineering, science, agriculture, management, economics, literature, law, and arts. The academic structure primarily focuses on engineering while integrating multiple disciplines. Since 2021, the university has been enrolling students in the first batch of undergraduate admissions in Henan Province. The faculty comprises 1,555 members, including 412 with senior professional titles and 1,133 holding master’s or doctoral degrees. Nearly 60 staff members are recognized as national experts, provincial experts, academic leaders, or outstanding talents. The university’s teaching and research equipment is valued at approximately ¥650 million, with a library collection exceeding 2.01 million print books and 1.51 million electronic books.

Professional Development and Teaching Achievements

The university emphasizes undergraduate education, enhancing the quality and distinctive development of its programs. It has established professional clusters in aviation, advanced equipment manufacturing, civil engineering, chemical engineering, electronics and information technology, bio-food and agricultural products, and applied liberal arts. The institution boasts 193 national and provincial-level undergraduate teaching projects, including two national first-class undergraduate program construction sites, two national first-class courses, and one program accredited by the Ministry of Education for engineering education. There are 60 provincial teaching platforms, such as modern industrial colleges and off-campus practice bases. Over the past three years, students have won 12 international awards, 438 national awards, and 1,229 provincial awards in various technological innovation competitions.

Aviation Specialization

Anyang Institute of Technology is the ninth university nationwide and the first in Henan Province to train civil aviation pilots. It offers aviation-related majors such as flight technology, aircraft airworthiness technology, aircraft quality and reliability, and aircraft manufacturing engineering. Ten aviation specializations are available within transportation and electronic information engineering. The institution operates an independent CCAR-147 aircraft maintenance training and examination center and hosts platforms like the “Henan International Joint Laboratory for Human-Machine Environment and Emergency Management.” The university owns six training aircraft, including B737-300 and Xiaoying 500 trainers, along with 30 specialized training laboratories.

Academic and Research Development

The university has five provincial key disciplines: "Electronics and Information," "Machinery," "Materials and Chemical Engineering," "Biology and Medicine," and "Transportation." It operates 26 provincial or ministerial-level research platforms, such as key laboratories, academic workstations, and postdoctoral innovation practice bases. The university has undertaken over 20 national projects and more than 110 provincial or ministerial projects, earning 19 provincial science and technology awards. Annual research funding reaches nearly ¥80 million.

Cultural Education

The university integrates traditional Chinese culture into its campus environment. Unique features include the Sunrise Garden designed with 64 hexagrams from the I Ching, the Quest Plaza based on the yin-yang dichotomy, the Five Elements Gate sculptures, and an oracle bone-script cultural wall. The institution actively promotes “Anyang Culture on Campus” and has been recognized for its achievements in ideological education and campus culture.

International Collaboration

The university maintains partnerships with 48 overseas institutions, including collaborative undergraduate programs with Teesside University in the UK and the establishment of the Moscow Aviation Science and Technology Institute in partnership with Moscow State University of Civil Aviation Technology.
