Gandong University is located in Fuzhou, Jiangxi Province, a city renowned for its reputation as the "Home of Talents and Cultural Hub." It is a full-time public undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education, overseen by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, and run by the Fuzhou Municipal People's Government. The university originated as the Changjiang College of Donghua University, established in 2002. It was officially restructured into its current form on January 25, 2021, and began enrolling students in September 2021. The planned enrollment scale is set at 10,000 students.
The university currently operates two campuses: Donglin Campus and Yangcheng Campus. The Donglin Campus, with a total investment of approximately 1.49 billion yuan, covers an area of 1,028 acres and has a building area of 330,000 square meters. The Yangcheng Campus covers 97.3 acres with a total building area of 46,800 square meters. The campus environment is beautiful and ecologically friendly, with a strong cultural atmosphere. The architecture, including the library, student dormitories, sports facilities, student activity center, and academic exchange center, is elegant and well-organized. Life services such as the student cafeteria, commercial areas, medical services, and courier logistics are well-developed. The university has comprehensive teaching facilities, modern cutting-edge technology labs, and advanced engineering training bases, all managed under a fully integrated information, digital, and intelligent management system. The library holds 620,000 physical books and 1.28 million electronic books.
Currently, the university has five main academic colleges: the College of Applied Engineering, the College of Information Engineering, the College of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, the College of Economics and Management, and the College of Humanities. These colleges offer 32 undergraduate programs, covering eight major disciplines: engineering, science, management, economics, literature, law, education, and arts. The university currently enrolls over 7,600 full-time undergraduate students. The faculty and staff number 412, with 45% holding senior or associate senior academic titles, and more than 95% of the faculty members hold master's or doctoral degrees.
