Liaoning University of International Business and Economics(辽宁对外经贸学院)

Liaoning University of International Business and Economics (LUIBE) is a nonprofit private undergraduate institution established with funding from its faculty and staff. It is the first private undergraduate university in Liaoning Province and is located in Lushun, a historic city by the Bohai Sea in Dalian.

History

The university traces its origins to October 1964 when it was established as the Liaoning Provincial Bureau of Foreign Trade Vocational School, operating in both Shenyang and Dalian. It was suspended in 1966 due to the Cultural Revolution but resumed in 1979 in San Daogou, Ganjingzi District, Dalian, under the name Liaoning Provincial School of Foreign Trade, managed by the Ministry of Foreign Trade. Over the years, it underwent various name changes, location shifts, and expansions:

• 1987: Relocated to Yangshugou, Shahekou District, Dalian.
• 1999: Upgraded to Wancheng Economic and Trade Vocational College, a higher vocational institution.
• 2005: Officially became a full-time undergraduate institution named Liaoning University of International Business and Economics under the management of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education.

LUIBE hosts 13 research platforms, including the International Economics and Trade Research Institute and the Regional Tourism Research Center. Laboratories and centers for experimental teaching are designated as provincial model institutions.

It also collaborates with over 30 universities in the United States, UK, Russia, Japan, and Spain, supporting joint-degree programs and other international exchanges.
