Shaoxing Institute of Technology(绍兴理工学院)

Shaoxing Institute of Technology is a full-time, public, regular undergraduate university established in 2025 with the approval of the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the Shaoxing Municipal People's Government. Its predecessor was Yuanpei College of Shaoxing University, founded in 2000.

The university is located in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province—one of the first batches of national historical and cultural cities. Situated in the Shaoxing Jinghu Science and Education Park, it enjoys an excellent geographical location and convenient transportation. Adjacent to the Shaoxing North High-Speed Railway Station and the Municipal Administrative Center, its locational advantages are distinct. The campus covers an area of over 1,000 mu (approximately 165 acres), with a current population of over 7,000 students and faculty.

As a newly established regular undergraduate institution, the university will consistently adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It fully implements the Party's educational policy, adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, and executes the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. It is steadily marching toward the goal of building a "local, high-level applied university with distinct science and engineering characteristics that is highly aligned with regional economic and social development"!

Academic Strength

The university currently offers 30 undergraduate admission majors. Among these are:

• 4 provincial first-class major construction sites

• 1 provincial key major

• 3 provincial emerging characteristic majors

• 1 provincial advantageous characteristic major

Additionally, the university features 1 provincial experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 provincial key construction experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 provincial off-campus practical education base for university students, 2 municipal key innovation teams, and 6 municipal key laboratories and research bases.

In recent years, the university has been approved for 36 provincial first-class courses, 72 Ministry of Education industry-academia cooperative education projects, and 7 Shaoxing teaching achievement awards. It has hosted 10 national-level research projects and 54 provincial/ministerial-level research projects, and has been granted 517 authorized patents.

Talent Cultivation

The university adheres to its positioning as a high-level applied university, deepening industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation to enhance the quality of talent cultivation. Centered around Shaoxing's pillar and emerging industries, it has established ten "1+N" major clusters. It focuses heavily on strengthening four characteristic and advantageous major clusters: textile and clothing creative design, architectural engineering, advanced manufacturing technology, and business administration.

The institution has successfully partnered with enterprises to establish characteristic programs such as the "Zhenyuan Pharmaceutical Class," "Southern Surveying and Mapping Class," "BIM Trainee Engineer Class," and "Personalized Intelligent Clothing Customization Engineer Class." It launched Zhejiang Province's first "Tencent Cloud Internet College" and has built multiple industrial colleges, including the "HIT Haidu Robotics College," "Glodon Digital Architecture College," and "Xindao Digital Intelligence Cloud Finance College." Through school-government-enterprise collaboration, it has also established several research service platforms and think tanks, such as the "ASEAN Economic Research Institute," "Shaoxing Cultural Industry Research Institute," and "Shaoxing Rural Revitalization and Green Development Research Institute."

The university places great importance on international exchange and cooperation, actively building platforms for students and faculty to study abroad, participate in exchange programs, and conduct collaborative research. Key international initiatives include:

• Establishing inter-university partnerships with over 20 overseas institutions in countries such as Germany, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Malaysia.

• Partnering with the Musashi Urawa Japanese Language Institute (Japan) for the "Prestigious University Master's Advancement Program."

• Signing direct master's program agreements with UK institutions like Middlesex University and the University for the Creative Arts.

• Signing strategic cooperation agreements with the University of Western Australia, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (Malaysia), and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak to carry out long- and short-term student exchanges, faculty visits, and doctoral-level faculty training.

The university is dedicated to enhancing students' innovative capabilities, adhering to the concepts of "Three-Wide Education" (all-staff, all-round, and whole-process education) and "Five-Domain Education" (moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education) to promote students' overall development and success.

In recent years, the university has won 18 various provincial awards for public art education, 20 municipal awards for moral education innovation, and secured the first prize in the "Karl Marx Cup" Zhejiang College Student Theoretical Knowledge Competition twice. It has cultivated a series of cultural brands, including the national-level "Youth Health Education," and characteristic sports programs such as dragon boat and baseball/softball.

Students' performance in science and technology competitions consistently ranks at the forefront among similar institutions in the province, with significant advantages in events like the National College Student Mathematical Modeling Contest, the College Student Structural Design Competition, the College Student Information Security Competition, and the Robotics Competition. In recent years, students have won 139 international and national awards, alongside 197 provincial grand and first prizes.

The initial employment rate of graduates remains steady at around 95%, with the number of students pursuing postgraduate studies, civil service, and studying abroad increasing year by year. Successive cohorts of graduates have earned unanimous praise from all sectors of society and employers for their strong comprehensive qualities and solid, hardworking ethos.
