Míngtiān xīngqī liù. Shālì xiǎng qù shāngdiàn mǎi bēizi.
明天 星期 六。莎莉 想 去 商店 买 杯子。
Tomorrow is Saturday. Sally wants to go to the store to buy a cup.
Wǒ xiǎng shàngwǔ qù fànguǎn xué zuò Zhōngguó cài, xiàwǔ qù xuéxiào xué xiě zì.
我 想 上午 去 饭馆 学 做 中国 菜， 下午 去 学校 学 写 字。
I want to go to the restaurant in the morning to learn to cook Chinese food and to the school in the afternoon to learn to write Hanzi.
语法点 Language Points
1. 连动句：一个句子有两个或两个以上的动词，后一个动作是前一个动作的目的。例如：
Sentences with serial verb phrases: in sentences with two or more verbs in them, the latter action is the purpose of the former action. For example:
我去商店买杯子。
I am going to the store to buy a cup.
我去饭馆吃中国菜。
I am going to the restaurant to eat Chinese food.
这种句子都可以拆分为两个句子。例如：
This type of sentence can always be split into two sentences. For example:
我去商店买杯子——我去商店；我买杯子（商店里有杯子）
I’m going to the store to buy a cup.——I go to the store; I buy a cup (there are cups at the store)
我去饭馆吃中国菜——我去饭馆；我吃中国菜（饭馆里有菜）
I’m going to the restaurant to eat Chinese food.——I go to the restaurant; I eat Chinese food (there is food at the restaurant)
注意：这种句子动词的顺序不能颠倒，句子中间也没有语音停顿。
Note: The order of the verbs in this type of sentence cannot be reversed and there is no pause in the middle of the sentence.
2. 时间名词的位置：中文时间名词可以放在主语的前面或后面表示时间。例如：
Position of time nouns:time nouns in Chinese can be placed in front of the subject or after the subject to express the time. For example:
我明天去商店。
[I tomorrow go to the shop] I will go to the shop tomorrow.
明天我去商店。
[Tomorrow I go to the shop] I will go to the shop tomorrow.
3. 能愿动词“想”：用在动词前，表示要做某事的想法，可以用程度副词修饰。例如：
The modal verb“想”: used in front of the verb to express the wish to do something; it can be modified by an adverb of degree. For example:
我想去北京。
I want to go to Beijing.
我想吃中国菜。
I want to eat Chinese food.
我很想学做中国菜。
[I very want learn make Chinese food] I want to learn to make Chinese food very much.
