Guangxi Medical University (GXMU), founded on November 21, 1934, is located in Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. GXMU is one of the 22 earliest founded medical colleges in China. It is one of the earliest medical universities in China to enroll international students, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan students, and overseas Chinese students. It is also one of the first 30 medical universities in China that are qualified to enroll MBBS students approved by Ministry of Education. 
GXMU became the co-constructed university of National Health Commission and the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in May 2020. In the year of 2021, GXMU has been listed as the key construction medical university in China by the CPC and the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
After nearly a century of development, GXMU has become the center of medical education, medical research, clinical treatment and public health care in Guangxi.
It has nutured over 200 thousand highly competent medical talents and professionals for Guangxi, China and even around the world.
As of July 2023, there are over 2000 full-time teachers and over 30000 full-time students in the university. The students come from all over China，as well as 32 countries and regions overseas.
