Overview & History

Tianjin University of Finance and Economics (TUFE), founded in 1958, is one of the earliest finance and economics universities established in New China. It was built upon the foundation of Nankai University's economic and management programs, bringing together a group of renowned experts and scholars in the field of economics and management from universities across North and Northeast China. The campus covers an area of nearly 1,400 mu (approximately 230 acres) and hosts over 16,000 full-time students. TUFE is a multidisciplinary university featuring economics and management as its core disciplines, while integrating and coordinating the development of other disciplines such as literature, law, science, engineering, and the arts. It is a key university under the administration of Tianjin Municipality and a crucial base for cultivating senior economic and management professionals in Northern China.

Academic & Research Capabilities

The university is a designated construction unit for high-level, distinctive universities in Tianjin. It offers a comprehensive educational system capable of granting bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees:

• Doctoral & Postdoctoral: 3 first-level discipline doctoral programs and postdoctoral research stations (Applied Economics, Business Administration, and Management Science and Engineering).

• Master's Degrees: 9 first-level discipline master's programs and 16 professional master's degree programs.

• Undergraduate Programs: 19 national-level first-class undergraduate program construction sites and 5 national-level distinctive programs.

International Cooperation

TUFE continuously deepens international cooperative education. It is one of the earliest institutions in China authorized to conduct cooperative degree programs with foreign entities and to grant American MBA degrees. Its MBA and EMBA programs are fully AMBA-accredited. Furthermore, the university:

• Has been certified as a Platinum Approved Learning Partner by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) headquarters in the UK for 13 consecutive years.

• Jointly hosts an undergraduate education program in Finance (Energy Finance) in partnership with West Virginia University in the United States.
